A comeback from a hiatus

A comeback from a hiatus

Did you miss TFB? Well, I missed writing the newsletter for you. It's been quite a journey since I started the blog in 2017 and launched the newsletter afterward so that readers could discover new posts and new gigs.

So, about the hiatus I've been on… For those of you who follow me on Twitter, you know that I hit my limit in MailChimp, which was sad because I adore MailChimp. I wasn't expecting to build my list as large as it is now, and I hope to continue building it. However, I've taken the past few weeks to think about not only how I want the newsletter to function, but also how I can better serve my subscribers. I've been trying to figure out what additional information or help I could give to make freelancing a bit easier. Now I think I've come up with an answer for that.

This month I'll be launching my paid newsletter with Patreon. With the Patreon subscription, subscribers can continue to get the weekly newsletter with jobs and gigs. I will be scaling back posting on this blog to once a month and instead feature a pitch that I've successfully reported and published. I should say that my pitching style is different than other writers, and it's totally fine to have a shorter or longer pitching style depending on the kind of story you're looking to do. But I figured since many of my subscribers tend to be up and coming freelancers, I could give you a sneak peek into the kind of work that I've been able to pitch and publish.

In the interest of keeping the newsletter accessible while supporting the costs of the blog, subscribers can access the newsletter for $1 a month. If you want to subscribe and get monthly pitch samples along with your weekly dose of jobs and gigs, subscribe to my new Patreon here.

I want to thank you for supporting the blog and the newsletter. The fact that anyone pays attention to this and find it helpful… it makes me feel immensely happy and grateful.
